Jeremiah Gemmel emerged last season as the vocal communicator at middle linebacker in Jay Bateman’s scheme. The 2020 captain was second on the team in tackles and breakups and tied for the team lead in hurries. For a young defense, Gemmel’s contagious personality and experience is critical for UNC's defense to take a step forward this fall.
