Practice not what it used to be, Bunting says
Posted Aug 14, 2005
UNC's football players reported to camp Thursday and opened practice Friday in T-shirts and shorts. They'll work out in shoulder pads and shorts today and Monday before putting on all of their pads for Tuesday's session. Thirty-three years ago, when UNC coach John Bunting was a rookie with the Philadelphia Eagles, such a schedule was unheard of. "I can remember my first training camp with Dick Vermeil was July 3," Bunting said. "We got out of there about the last day in August -- seven weeks of two-a-days."
