In No. 24 North Carolina’s loss at Virginia Tech on Friday, Sam Howell fired a pass to the left sideline, where Justin Olson had turned to find the ball with cornerback Jermaine Waller in tight coverage. Olson appeared to secure the catch as he dropped to the ground, only to have Waller wrestle the ball away. It was a bang-bang play that was significant.
