Tar Heels add Charlotte Independence receiver Hakeem Nicks

Posted Aug 3, 2005

Charlotte Independence High football coach Tom Knotts predicts that Hakeem Nicks, who has committed to North Carolina, will get a lot of attention this season. As a junior, Nicks backed up Mohamed Massaquoi, now at Georgia. Knotts said Nicks is 6-foot-2 and 201 pounds with huge hands and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds at the Shrine Bowl combine. "He's not that well known," Knotts said, "but he's going to become well known this fall." (Charlotte Observer)
