Only penalty for Virginia player’s cheap shot on UNC’s Josh Downs was an injury

Virginia safety Joey Blount’s egregious hit on UNC receiver that has been making the rounds on social media has no place in football. There was a penalty on the play, but it was against Cavaliers defensive back Antonio Clary for grabbing ’s face mask. Blount’s only penalty was an injury and, fortunately, Downs wasn’t hurt.
