In the 2019-21 classes, UNC signed either the top or No. 2 player in the state (247Sports Composite), signed five of the top 10 in 2020 and six of the top 10 in 2021. That includes Sam Howell, whom Mack Brown persuaded to rescind his commitment to Florida State. The quick start to Brown’s tenure adds a layer of significance to Saturday’s game.
