Johnny White: Chapel Hill is ‘the perfect place for me’

So much for suspense. Asheville High tailback strolled into the school’s weight room Monday afternoon to reveal his college decision wearing a North Carolina football camp T-shirt. As expected, White chose the Tar Heels over Arkansas and South Carolina. White, who rushed for 2,184 yards and accounted for an area-best 42 touchdowns in 2004, said he committed to North Carolina during a visit with his mother, Belinda, on July 16. “It’s the perfect place for me to be,” White said. “It felt like home. Now there’s no pressure on my back, and I can focus on the season. And when I get to North Carolina, I hope we can go play for a national championship.” (Asheville Citizen-Times)
