Cassie Sumfest Earns ACC Field Hockey Honors


North Carolina senior Cassie Sumfest has been named ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon by the league. Sumfest, from Lewisburg, Pa., led a Tar Heel defense that shut out No. 15 Wake Forest 1-0 in Winston-Salem on Friday. The shutout was the second of the season and first in ACC play for No. 10 UNC.
