Tar Heels sign tight end Ed Barham

had a dream and Sunday afternoon the dream became reality when North Carolina offered the 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end a football scholarship. The senior from Dendron (Va.) Surry got the offer after attending a camp at UNC. He made a verbal commitment immediately. "He is at his dream school," said Ervin Jones, the Surry head coach. "He is devoted to his family and wanted to play somewhere close to home so that his family could come watch him play." (Raleigh News & Observer)
