Roy Williams violated rules at Kansas


approved gifts of cash and clothing from boosters to departing University of Kansas men's basketball players in 2001, 2002 and 2003, the school said Friday. Kansas officials announced that they have informed the NCAA of numerous violations throughout the school's athletics program, uncovered after a two-year internal investigation. Williams, who coached North Carolina to the 2005 NCAA men's basketball title in his second season with the Tar Heels, told Kansas investigators he believed the gifts were permissible, according to the report.
