There was Vince Carter, in town for the weekend and getting a standing ovation from the Smith Center crowd. Keep in mind that he left Chapel Hill in the spring of 1998, before almost everyone on the current UNC roster was born. And yet after a 22-year NBA career, he still carries the kind of star power that makes players sneak sideways glances at him.
