In Jeremiah Gemmel’s absence, sophomore linebacker Cedric Gray and freshman linebacker Power Echols took over responsibilities at UNC's inside linebacker position. That duo joined the rest of the defense in putting together a three-drive sequence in the fourth quarter that was arguably the best performance of the season by Jay Bateman's unit.
