From the Archives: A ‘Classic’ Veterans Day remembered

Ten years ago, No. 1 North Carolina played Michigan State in the Carrier Classic basketball game on the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson in honor of Veterans Day. A crowd of 8,111, including President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and Magic Johnson watched the first college basketball game ever played on an aircraft carrier. The Tar Heels won, 67-55.
