Bobcats picked players, not an alma mater
Posted Jul 3, 2005
I don't know whether Raymond Felton and Sean May were the best uses of the fifth and 13th picks. You can make a plausible argument that they should have sacrificed 13 to trade up to 3. You can make a plausible argument for taking New Mexico's Danny Granger at 13, instead of May. But I do know this -- right or wrong, Bernie Bickerstaff believed those were the best basketball players available when the Bobcats selected. It wasn't about the baby-blue jerseys, but rather the players who wore them.
