Four Tar Heels taken in first round
Posted Jun 29, 2005
Four Tar Heels were taken in the first 14 picks of the 2005 NBA draft — the first time four players from the same school were taken in the first round since 1999. Freshman Marvin Williams wasn't the No. 1 overall pick but he wasn't far behind, going No. 2 to the Atlanta Hawks. He was followed in short order by teammates Raymond Felton (No. 5), Sean May (No. 13) and Rashad McCants (No. 14). Felton and May will even remain teammates, as both were drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats.
