Andrew Platek has season-ending surgery, hopes to return to Siena next season


’s season at Siena College is over after five games. The former UNC player had successful surgery Friday to repair a full tear in his left Achilles tendon and will be sidelined the rest of the season, the school announced Monday. Platek suffered the injury in the Saints’ Dec. 3 loss to Manhattan and his recovery is expected to take four months. (Tar Heel Tribune)
