Marvin Williams, a young man of humble beginnings and a humble approach to life, recently performed an extremely out-of-character act as acknowledgement that his college days are at an end and a lucrative pro basketball career is at hand. He took a Hummer H2 for a test drive. Williams says he’s in no hurry to grow up. And the primary motivation for bolting North Carolina for the NBA after one year is to provide for his overworked mother, not for himself. But who’s to tell the soon-to-be-multimillionaire he can’t continue his fast-track basketball odyssey in a flashy ride?
