October 24, 1987. There were 31,280 people in New Orleans to watch Tulane host Virginia Tech. The Green Wave handled the Hokies, 57-38. It was the first and last time Mack Brown competed against Hall of Fame coach and dear friend Frank Beamer. Now, in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, the Tar Heel Hall of Famer will face off against Frank’s son, Shane. (Inside Carolina)
