Gene Chizik Puts to Rest UNC Coach-in-Waiting Rumors


was announced as UNC's new defensive coordinator Jan. 8. Shortly after, rumors of a possible coach-in-waiting situation arose with Chizik, 60, taking over the head job when decides to retire. Chizik has head coaching experience at Iowa State and Auburn. On Thursday, Chizik put to rest any notion of a coach-in-waiting situation. (Inside Carolina)
