UNC suffered an 87-67 defeat to Duke, which tied for the fifth-worst loss in the 37-year history of the Smith Center. The Tar Heels are 16-7 (8-4 ACC) with four weeks left in the regular season and have lost those seven games by an average of 18.6 points. UNC has lost four games by at least 20 points for only the third time since the ACC began play in 1953.
