Posted Feb 26, 2022
Monmouth basketball coach King Rice was emotional at his press conference Friday. Rice was a senior point guard at UNC when the Gulf War broke out 31 years ago, with the Tar Heels’ game against NC State on Jan. 16, 1991 called off just 30 minutes before tipoff. His UNC teammate Pete Chilcutt’s brother, Mike, was Marine stationed in the Middle East.
