Tar Heels help preserve the history of local Black communities

Chapel Hill and Carrboro’s historically Black communities — especially the Northside community — have a rich history with deep ties to civil rights and social justice. Preserving that history is one of the goals of the Marian Cheek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History, located near UNC-Chapel Hill’s campus on West Rosemary Street.
