The residents of Wallace, North Carolina shook their heads when Javonte Williams went from state-champion linebacker to college running back and ran for more than 2,000 yards. These days, they're still shaking their heads at the thought that the boy they knew as "Pookie" — the quiet high school valedictorian — made it to the NFL from their humble town.
