Hubert Davis ranked first among most immediately successful hires from the past college hoops season

The first 26 games were capricious (UNC was 18-8), but Hubert Davis deserves to be at the top of the list. Thanks to Caleb Love's announcement Sunday, Davis will return almost everyone from a team that went 29-10 and made it to the national title game as a No. 8 seed (just the fifth school to do so). There was also the pair of immortal wins over Duke.
