Zac Gallen's dominance for Diamondbacks has roots in years of meticulous preparation


On Friday, former UNC pitcher was named National League Pitcher of the Month. Gallen believes his run has been aided by pitch selection but doesn't consider it the driving force. He allowed three runs his first start of August, then turned in five straight scoreless outings. He is 1 inning shy of the club record of 42 straight shutout innings. (Arizona Republic)
