North Carolina and Notre Dame meet for the 23rd time in a football series that began in 1949. Notre Dame leads the series 20-2. Both Carolina victories occurred in Chapel Hill. UNC would improve to 4-0 for the first time since 1997 when the Mack Brown-led squad won the opening eight games that season. Mack Brown is 0-2 all-time against Notre Dame.
