Touted Villanova freshman Cam Whitmore set for thumb surgery


Villanova basketball star freshman , a projected top-10 NBA draft pick, will undergo surgery next week on his right thumb after injuring it in practice Wednesday, the school announced. Whitmore will be reevaluated in early November. Whitmore, a 6-foot-7 McDonald's All-American, was ranked No. 21 in the ESPN 100 for the 2022 class. (ESPN.com)
