One day after UNC was voted No. 1 in the AP Basketball Top 25 preseason poll, the media picked the Tar Heels to win the ACC, with junior center Armando Bacot the ACC Preseason Player of the Year and junior guard Caleb Love joining him on the Preseason All-ACC first team.
