Brandon Tate making defenses look silly

Shortly after being hired as UNC's offensive coordinator, John Shoop made a recruiting stop at Brandon Tate's old high school. Tate had already made his mark with the Tar Heels in 2005 and 2006 as a return specialist. But offensive coordinator Jay Perdue of Burlington High School in Cummings, N.C., told Shoop that he did not understand why the recently dismissed UNC coaching staff hadn't used Tate more on offense. The guy is really good, Perdue told Shoop. Shoop listened.
