On Oct. 17, AP News released the preseason top 25 rankings for men's college basketball. North Carolina, the 2022 national runner-up, tops the list as preseason No. 1 for the tenth time in school history, the most of any program. Here is a look back at the previous Tar Heel teams that came into the season on top and where they ended up by the spring.
