Tar Heels still No. 1 in AP college basketball poll, but Gonzaga closing in


North Carolina held the top spot in the latest AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll, but its lead over No. 2 Gonzaga fell. The Tar Heels beat UNCW 69-56 and College of Charleston 102-86, with preseason ACC player of the year scoring 28 points. The Zags beat North Florida 104–63 but barely won against unranked Michigan State 64-63. (Tar Heel Tribune)
