Tar Heels let one slip away vs. Virginia Tech

For awhile it appeared North Carolina had a signature victory against a perennial football power, something that has been a rarity around Chapel Hill for awhile. Then quarterback T.J. Yates went out with an ankle injury and turnovers and penalties piled up like an overstuffed trash can and the Tar Heels unraveled against Virginia Tech. The result was a blown 14-point lead and Saturday's 20-17 loss at Kenan Stadium.
