Heels' loss really hurts

For a while, it was all in UNC's grasp -- a 3-0 start, an early step toward an ACC championship game berth, a chance at a top-25 ranking. Then quarterback T.J. Yates' left ankle turned Saturday night. And so could the tide. Oh, there were more reasons for the Tar Heels' 20-17 letdown to Virginia Tech than the sophomore's still-being-evaluated sprained ankle: four turnovers, a missed field goal, 121 yards worth of penalties.
