This week’s Hometown Hero is Karen Shelton, longtime North Carolina Field Hockey coach who is retiring after yet another landmark season coaching Tar Heels to victory and another National Championship. Shelton has accrued 25 ACC championships, 10 National championships, and 745 victories over 42 seasons — more than any other coach.
