Coach Karen Shelton announced her retirement after UNC’s undefeated 2022 field hockey season, following 42 seasons as coach and an NCAA-record 10 national championships – this story was written after their 2018 championship. I’ve had the pleasure of coaching and mentoring 38 teams made up of such impressive and inspirational women. (UNC.edu)
