Should Washington want to study a blueprint for the resurrection of its football program, the school could do worse than emulate the University of North Carolina. A big-name coach with NFL credentials, Butch Davis, has established Chapel Hill as a destination point for four-star recruits. And to think: Two years ago, North Carolina president Erskine Bowles and athletic director Dick Baddour were wrestling with the future of embattled coach John Bunting.
