Mack Brown said the conversations that ultimately led to assistant coach Dre Bly’s departure from the UNC football staff began about a month ago, a timeframe aligning with the period around New Year’s that followed the Tar Heels’ loss in the Holiday Bowl, and the end of their 2022 season.
