Mack Brown said the conversations that ultimately led to assistant coach Dre Bly’s departure from the UNC football staff began about a month ago, a timeframe aligning with the period around New Year’s that followed the Tar Heels’ loss in the Holiday Bowl, and the end of their 2022 season. Jason Jones has since come on board as cornerbacks coach.
