Lilli Backes Pitches Complete-Game Shutout As UNC Softball Beats Minnesota


Behind a Lilli Backes pitching gem, the North Carolina softball team earned a 1-0 victory over Minnesota on Friday night in the first day of the ACC/B1G 10 Challenge. Backes threw her first career complete game shutout, limiting a Gopher team that averaged over eight runs a game coming in to just five hits, matching her career-best of seven strikeouts.
