The Tar Heels have not lost their opening game of the ACC tournament since 2014, when as the fourth seed they were upset by Pitt at the Greensboro Coliseum, site of this year’s event. BC is playing better than a 16-16 team, having won four of its last five games, including an upset of sixth-ranked Virginia.
