Just In Case, What Is North Carolina's History In The NIT?

The Tar Heels have reached 44 of the last 47 NCAA Tournaments. UNC has participated in two NITs in that span: 2003 and 2010. Carolina’s NIT appearance in 1974 was the last season in which only one team per conference was allowed in the NCAA Tournament, so the NIT carried tremendous prestige. In all, UNC has played in six NITs, winning it in 1971. (Tar Heel Illustrated)
