Max Carlson pitched seven strong innings, Tomas Frick homered in a six-run fourth and No. 13 UNC took game one of its three-game ACC Coastal Division series from Georgia Tech 8-1 at Russ Chandler Stadium on Thursday (Highlights). Carlson allowed one run and five hits, striking out eight and walking two. Kevin Eaise pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth.
