One of the most overused cliches' in sports is "Playing for the ring." Well, in the case of the 1978 UNC baseball team, they accomplished their goal of advancing to the College World Series but got no rings. All that changed last weekend. Current Tar Heels coach Mike Fox, a standout second baseman on that '78 team, held a 30-year reunion and was able to present each of the team's members with a ring commemorating their achievements.
