National Champions! UNC beats NC State for Tar Heels’ first women’s tennis NCAA title


At last, North Carolina has broken through to win the program’s first women’s tennis national championship. No. 1-ranked Carolina avenged its only loss on Saturday night with 4–1 victory over No. 3 N.C. State at the USTA national campus in Orlando, Fla., in the Tar Heels’ sixth Final Four appearance. It’s UNC's 49th NCAA team championship in eight sports. (Tar Heel Tribune)
