Carolina Field Hockey Shuts Out No. 6 JMU For Weekend's Second Win

The North Carolina field hockey team earned its second shutout of the weekend Sunday afternoon, beating No. 6 James Madison 1-0 at Francis E. Henry Stadium. UNC senior Kate Scholl scored the game's only goal in the 57th minute and the Tar Heel defense held JMU scoreless for the first time this season to boost Carolina's record to 12-3 overall. James Madison, which had won a school-record 11 consecutive games, fell to 13-2.
