Short pitching start, struggles at top of batting order send UNC Baseball into losers’ bracket

A microcosm of why UNC Baseball has struggled at times this season played out in its NCAA tournament opener, with the lack of length from starting pitchers and hits with runners in scoring position. Combined with struggles at the top of the batting order, Carolina fell into the losers’ bracket of the Terre Haute Regional with a 5-4 loss to Iowa on Friday. (Tar Heel Tribune)
