Dean Smith’s tenure at UNC produced six Hall-of-Fame players (Billy Cunningham, Charlie Scott, Robert McAdoo, Bobby Jones, James Worthy and Michael Jordan. Vince Carter will almost certainly become the seventh) and 25 first-round NBA selections. UNC players were first- or second-team Associated Press All-Americans 24 times in the Smith era.
