UNC women still have speed to burn


Neither one is worried about depth. Both North Carolina and Duke -- along with fellow conference member Maryland -- are expected to contenders for the ACC and NCAA women's basketball championships this season. The cast members, however, are going to be new for the 2008-09 season, which begins Nov. 14. But the expectations will be the same, and neither team was even trying to underplay the optimism in the ACC's media day Wednesday. (Durham Herald-Sun)
