Duke was at the peak of its powers in 1992. The Devils were in the midst of winning back-to-back championships and were in a stretch in which they’d go to seven Final Fours in nine seasons. Entering the Carolina game on February 5th, Duke had reeled off 23 consecutive wins since getting blasted by the Heels in the 1991 ACC Tournament title game.
