Vanceboro receiver Erik Highsmith commits to UNC
Posted Oct 25, 2008
Erik Highsmith turned a summer football-camp performance into a future yesterday and committed to North Carolina. Highsmith is a 6-3, 170-pound receiver from Vanceboro and West Craven High School. The North Carolina coaching staff became interested in him when he went through one of North Carolina's summer camps with his high-school quarterback. North Carolina was the first program to offer a scholarship to Highsmith, who also drew looks from East Carolina.
