On the way to the 1977 NCAA championship game, the Tar Heels, with one starter out and two others playing hurt, relied heavily on the Four Corners offense to equalize mismatches against favored Kentucky and Nevada-Las Vegas. It should come as no surprise that they would employ the offense if they had a second-half lead against Marquette.
